Wow! Another year and another fantastic adventure with The Social Book and its owners Scott Evans, Jeff Henry and Sami Shbeeb. I’m so proud of how they continue to maintain what I’ve always considered it to be—an invaluable resource book for the city. Thanks to their tireless efforts and creativity, The Book just keeps getting better.
I look forward each year to presenting The Social Book “Houston Treasures.” While I created the book in 1996, this very special section was added only six years ago. Grateful as I am, and always have been, to live in Houston with so many amazing individuals who give so much of themselves and their resources to the betterment of the city, it is my great pleasure to recognize these outstanding Houstonians. The Social Book “Houston Treasures” award is presented to individuals, chosen by a select committee of The Social Book, who have demonstrated an exemplary, lifelong dedication and commitment to serving the community with unprecedented generosity of spirit, time, energy, resources, creativity and love.
