brown linda lyons Linda Brown is a native Texan and third generation Houstonian. She attended The Kinkaid School, Robert E. Lee High School, Houston Baptist University and The Art Institute of Houston. During college and after graduation, she worked in commercial real estate and fashion until she married Gregory L. Brown. They have been married for 21 years and have three daughters, Carson 18, Kaddy 17 and Krissy 17.

Her mother, Joan Lyons, a previous Houston Treasures honoree, and her grandparents Hazel and Bob Herrin instilled strong humanitarian roots and created huge shoes for her to fill. Linda is a Life Member of Rodeo Houston (Houston Live Stock Show & Rodeo). From an early age, she participated in three separate rodeo committees and chaired the Ladies Season Box Seat Committee, as well as the International Committee Luncheon and Gala. Immediately after chairing the Juvenile Diabetes Gala in 1990, she chaired the Houston Grand Opera Luncheon, Texas Medical Hospice Gala, March of Dimes Best Dressed Luncheon, National Alzheimer’s Gala, United Cerebral Palsy Annual “Hats Off to Mothers” Luncheon, Houston Children’s Museum Luncheon, and Texas Children’s Hospital “What’s Up Doc” Dinner. Wanting to learn more about Houston’s medical needs, Linda became more involved with Baylor College of Medicine and joined The Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine and served as its President for two years. She now serves on the Board of Directors.Linda is on the Board of Baylor College of Medicine Huffington Center on Aging; and, along with her mother, Linda chaired the 2009 Huffington Center on Aging Women’s Health Summit.

She enjoys family weekends at Tres Ninas Ranch, traveling, hiking and tennis.
