Anita Webber Smith is a creative and artistic interior designer with a long line of satisfied clientele. Her designs have been featured in House Beautiful, Houston Life, Woman’s Day Special Publication, Houston Chronicle and Icon Magazine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University.

Anita is also involved in many philanthropic endeavors and has chaired fundraisers for the March of Dimes’ Best Dressed Luncheon and the Power of Legacy Gala for the Power to End Stroke Campaign. She has co-chaired the Gala Grand Opening for Nordstrom benefiting Project S.A.F.E.T.Y. of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Texas Southern University Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala.

She has been inducted into the March of Dimes “Hall of Fame” for Best Dressed and was recognized by Lamar High School as Distinguished Alumni. She has received the Humanitarian award from Kuumba House and been named a Woman of Distinction by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.

Gerald B. Smith is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Smith Graham & Co., a global investment management firm with offices in Houston and New York City. Smith’s firm specializes in managing global fixed income as well as small- and mid-cap equity portfolio strategies for institutional clients. Smith Graham & Co. manages approximately $6 billion in assets.

Smith currently serves as Lead Independent Director and Deputy Chairman of the Cooper Industries Board. He is a trustee of Charles Schwab Mutual Funds, a $250 billion platform, and Chairman of its Investment Oversight Committee. Smith is a board member of OneOK Inc., and OneOK Partners, both publicly traded companies.

Mr. Smith’s current civic and charitable affiliations include: Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) where he serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee; Chairman of the Texas Southern University Foundation; and Treasurer of the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) Board of Directors. Mr. Smith graduated from Texas Southern University with a BBA in Finance.

Gerald and Anita are avid collectors of African American art and have three boys, Marcus, Jackson, and Jordan, and a daughter Joy.
