Zane and Brady CarruthZane and Brady Carruth live their life by one simple principle, and that is “Be a Giver in Life.” They believe the key to living a rewarding and fulfilling life is to find something you are passionate about and support it. Brady has always supported arts and parks, while Zane is passionate about promoting children’s literacy, animal welfare, and the arts.

After graduating from St. John’s Academy, Brady earned his BBA and MBA in Finance from the University of Texas–Austin. After graduation, he returned to Houston and began a successful career in the insurance industry.

Brady began his philanthropic journey in his early twenties when he joined the Wortham Foundation Board. At which time he aggressively promoted the expansion of the city’s notable arts and parks, helping to create the theatre district and city parks such as the legendary Discovery Green Park, and Buffalo Bayou Park.  He continued his philanthropic work after his parents’ death, when he assumed the role of President of the Carruth Foundation.  The Carruth Foundation has made longstanding commitments to the Houston SPCA, Discovery Green Park, Buffalo Bayou Park, The Parish School, and the Houston Zoo.

Brady serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the 2021-2023 seasons. As the First Lady of the Rodeo, Zane was honored to serve as a judge in the inaugural writing competition.

Together, they have chaired the Houston Grand Opera Ball, the Discovery Green Conservatory Gala, the Buffalo Green Gala, and the Houston SPCA Gala.

Zane has worked tirelessly to promote and strengthen the Houston SPCA, Houston Grand Opera, Discovery Green Conservatory, TUTS Foundation, as well as serving as Vice President of the Carruth Foundation. An accomplished and award-winning author, she has donated hundreds of her books to various Houston children’s groups, including boxes of books to Ukraine.  She has been recognized and honored by CCFA as a “Woman of Distinction,” Houston Business Journal and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

As a blended family, they share and love 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
