Susan and Michael PlankSusan and Michael Plank have a long and storied history as supporters of charitable organizations on a local, state and national level.

Susan and her daughter, Kendall, founded DecMyRoom in 2007 after decorating a pediatric patient’s room at Texas Children’s Hospital. The experience left a lasting impression on Susan and Kendall, and their team has since expanded DecMyRoom to 218 hospitals across the United States—creating “healing places” one room at a time.

In addition to Dec, Susan has served on the Advisory Board for the Texas Children’s Cancer Center and the March of Dimes Board, and has supported numerous other local charities. Susan has chaired numerous fundraisers in Houston and has been recognized by the March of Dimes as “Best Dressed,” has received Channel 11’s “Spirit of Texas” award, and has been honored with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Community Service Award.

Mike is Chairman/CEO of The Plank Companies, Inc., an expansive business enterprise with a focus on Industrial Real Estate, Rail Logistics, and specialty Manufacturing. When Mike’s not chasing business opportunities, he gives of his time and resources in the service of others. He’s a past President of the Children’s Museum of Houston, and serves on the Board of the YMCA, the Greater Houston Partnership, and the President’s Advisory Council of Houston Methodist Hospital.

Mike currently serves on the Board of Regents of Texas A&M University, where he was recently named a Distinguished Alumnus.

Susan and Mike have two grown children:  Kendall (27) and Jared (23).
