With more than fifteen years of experience as an educator specializing in special needs and inclusive learning, Melissa has built her life around the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow with confidence and dignity.
Her civic and philanthropic involvement spans several of Houston’s most impactful institutions. Melissa serves on the boards of Houston Children’s Charity, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and the Memorial Hermann Foundation and she is a proud Trustee of the Houston Ballet. Through these roles, she has helped lead initiatives that uplift vulnerable families, expand access to healthcare, and strengthen the city’s cultural and community landscape.
She is widely recognized for her leadership in philanthropic fundraising and event planning. Melissa has chaired numerous high-profile events, including Hats in the Park for the Hermann Park Conservancy; the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Kick-Off; Memorial Hermann’s Elevated Connection Aspen events for four consecutive years; Fashion in the Fields; PaperCity’s Philanthropy in Fashion; the Houston Ballet Ball; and Easter Seals’ Hats Off to Moms Luncheon. Her dedication to service also includes extensive volunteer and host committee roles with the Children’s Museum of Houston, Houston reVision, March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, Arrow Child & Family Services, Dec My Room, and Texas Children’s Hospital—where she is a Lifetime Ambassador.
