Mady and Ken Kades business executives, advocates of the arts, community leaders and philanthropists own and operate thirty-one McDonald’s restaurants in the Greater Houston Area. They are at the center of a network of success that reaches beyond the “Golden Arches” and into the community.

In addition to her teaching career, Mady has initiated many innovative outreach programs across Houston. She created and directed the “Space Race” at Space Center Houston, a Fun Run and 100-Mile Bike Ride to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. She has served on the Boards of RMHC, Business and Professional Women, and Hadassah, to name just a few, and currently serves on Boards of Houston Symphony League, City ArtWorks, Holocaust Museum Houston, and Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. She co-chaired the Hands-On Family Festival celebrating the 10th anniversary of Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, co-chaired The Empire State of Mind to benefit Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre, and twice co-chaired The Art of Conversation benefiting City ArtWorks. Mady chaired the Texas Association for Symphony Orchestras Luncheon and Fashion Show for the Houston Symphony League and the CA Scene which she created for City ArtWorks. Mady was voted one of 2015’s Most Influential Women, was named as one of Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s 2016 Women of Distinction and is a 2016 Inductee into the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame.

Ken currently serves on multiple insurance boards and on the Board of the Alley Theatre. He and Mady have associate-produced shows at the Alley, in London’s West End, and on Broadway. They chaired the 2015 Alley Theatre Ball, making “Much Ado About the Alley, Celebrating the Art of Theatre” the most successful ball effort in the history of the Alley. They are currently Underwriting Chairs of the 2017 Alley Theatre Ball and have been voted 2016 Community Champions by Texas Children’s Cancer Center.

Mady and Ken are avid travelers and have visited over 84 countries. They live in Memorial and are blessed with a wonderful family: Rachel Kades, Dr. Alex and Jennifer Butkevich, Lil and Matthew Kades, and granddaughters Margot and Olivia.
