Moores Society Fall Luncheon Brings the Festive Red & White and Leaves Guests Wanting “Moore”!
One-hundred fifty excited guests gathered in the foyer of UH Moores School of Music Opera House for the annual Moores Society Fall Luncheon, chaired by Ann Ayre and Elia Gabbanelli, and benefiting the Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival, which will be held in June.
Brian Kai Chin, Director of Moores School of Music and Andrew Davis, Dean of Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, welcomed guests to the Red & White-themed luncheon.
City Kitchen was charged with creating a menu to accompany this festive music and philanthropy celebration.
Featured in the afternoon’s musical entertainment portion were performances by the Formosa Quartet, Concerto Competition winners Yuhao Li (violin) and Sean Holshauser (voice) accompanied by Scott Holshauser on piano, and Timothy Hester (piano).
Recognized for their lifetime of support were Robert and Sharon Lietzow. Both were visibly moved as their extensive list of patronage for the organization was announced. Also receiving acknowledgment for his outstanding accomplishments was Franz Anton Krager, Director of Orchestras for Moores School of Music and Chief Conductor of Texas Music Festival.
After enjoying a festive afternoon of good food and music, those attending received an advance copy of “Morry-The Moores Opera House Mouse,” written by Sarah McClung. UH Moores School of Music was proud to announce $50,000 had been raised to support their efforts! A proud day for all involved!
