Houston Symphony League Interviews Houston Icon Robert Sakowitz
Chic … Eloquent … Sold-out! These were just some of the afternoon fun at the Junior League of Houston, where 150 beautifully dressed women and men enjoyed lunch and listened to chairperson Marla Hurley interview former retail giant Robert Sakowitz.
Robert graciously spoke about Houston’s history, the intersection of fashion and culture, the highs and lows of a business surviving in the ever-changing economy and what it feels like to carry the legacy of one of Houston’s most prominent families.
A Yves Saint Laurent straw bucket bag filled with roses and champagne, donated by modernMARLA Luxe Boutique in RoundTop Texas, was the much-sought-after live auction item. The event raised over $40,000 towards the efforts of Houston Symphony League.
Hopefully, this luncheon and intimate one-on-one discussion becomes a regular event for Houston Symphony League. Bravo!
