The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse
Ben Berg Makes Rodeo History
Restaurateur Ben Berg, Owner of Berg Hospitality Group, has now done what no other dining establishment has done in the 90 years of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He has created a seated-dining and full bar experience in NRG Park from February 28th-March 20th, coinciding with the duration of Rodeo season. The restaurant, The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse, is both casual and formal and is the only seated restaurant ever allowed on Rodeo grounds in its history. Leave it to Ben Berg to make history!
Two separate dining experiences and menus are available along with two full bars. The Saloon is a first-come, first-served upscale, casual eatery featuring a large main bar and nightly live entertainment, along with a covered dining patio called The Porch. The Steakhouse is Ben’s fine dining room where guests can reserve tables in advance. Ben mentions, “This is a place where I’d want to go and hang out, grab a meal and listen to some live music before or after the main concert. Plus, we are very excited to also offer private dining options for Rodeo committees or any larger groups who want to celebrate at the Rodeo. The Ranch will have a little something for everyone.”
Berg’s love for the television series Yellowstone helped create the design theme for The Ranch’s 16,000 sq. ft. space. It harkens back to Ben’s dream of one day retiring to a Montana or Wyoming ranch. His vision was brought to reality by Elizabeth Swift, owner of Swift + Company, a premier full-service catering, event planning and décor company, who brought her design talents to create a one-of-a-kind temporary destination restaurant.
The Steakhouse can seat up to 240 and feels like you are actually dining in one of Ben Berg’s many four-star establishments. The Saloon has a more rustic ambiance with seating for 140 guests and The Porch boasts space for 100. Both are available for a full buyout for private events.
The Ranch’s menus include signature dishes from B&B Butchers, The Annie Café & Bar and B.B. Lemon. Standard fan-favorite items like Chef Tommy’s Bacon, Carpet Bagger on the Half Shell and Crab Tostadas will, of course, be featured but The Steakhouse will offer the finest cuts of Kobe, Texas and Wagyu and USDA Prime beef, as well as Berg Hospitality’s reserve caviar, fresh seafood, protein entrees and much more.
The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse will be open Monday through Thursday from 4-11 pm, Fridays from 4 pm-midnight (final seating at 11 pm), Saturdays from 11 am-12 am and Sundays from 11 am-11 pm with a brunch buffet served on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am-3 pm. There will be live music in the Saloon every Monday-Friday from 5-8 pm and a DJ from 9:30pm-midnight, Saturdays from noon-4 pm and a DJ from 8 pm-midnight, and Sundays from noon-4 pm. Another great idea from one of Houston’s smartest, committed and most charitable restaurateurs. Congratulations Ben!
