Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s 8th Annual Wags & Whiskers Brunch and Pet Fashion Show-“Jet Set Pets” Provided Animals Non-stop Service from Hungry to Fed!

More than 200 philanthropic animal lovers virtually took flight at the annual Wags & Whiskers Brunch and Pet Fashion Show, themed “Jet Set Pets.” As always, this fun-filled event benefits Animeals, a unique program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. Event Chair M.A. Shute, the IMGH team, the sponsors and the supporters raised more than $70,000 to help provide free pet food and vet care to 1,300 dogs and cats of Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels homebound seniors.

Thanks to its already brilliantly executed home-delivered meals expertise, Interfaith Ministries’ team of Meals on Wheels drivers delivered a carry-on lunch for guests to enjoy at home similar to what they do for homebound seniors in its Meals on Wheels program.

The virtual program included being welcomed by Interfaith Ministries Board Chair and Co-Sr. Captain Jay Harberg and Emcee Casey Curry. Rev. Gregory Han gave a heart-felt invocation and Interfaith Ministries’ Chief Development Officer Maria Magee gave impassioned words of encouragement. President and CEO and Co-Sr. Captain Martin B. Cominsky took guests on a tour of Interfaith Ministries’ four pillars of services.

The exciting part of the event began where viewers watched jet-set pets on the runway of a lifetime during the “pupular” Pet Fashion Show at the Lone Star Flight Museum. The title of Animeals “Top Pet” from the fashion show judged by local media judges was awarded to Rachel Feiertag with Zim (cat) and Kuma (dog). Viewers swooned over Coco and pet parent Ali Al Sudani, Interfaith Ministries’ Chief Programs Officer, who won the People’s Choice Award.

Congratulations to everyone at this great organization for all the amazing work they do to help our city’s seniors, homebound and furry members of their families.
