Youval MeiclerYouval Meicler immigrated to Houston from Israel at the age of 21 with nothing. In search of a job, he approached the owner of a furniture factory, who gave him a broom and told him to sweep the floor—which he did until the floor was spotless. Eventually, he was promoted to sales, and within 6 years, he became the company’s President.

His work ethic and commitment to quality led him to establish his own wholesale bedding company, Noah’s Manufacturing, in 1989. Then came Texas Mattress Makers in 2011 and Living Designs Furniture in 2015. Each is the result of hard work, dedication, and the resilience of one man and his “American Dream”. Youval often says his greatest achievement is that all three of his children are immersed in the businesses. Today, both companies are family-owned and operated and are widely known as leaders in the mattress and furniture industries.

As a business owner, Youval is most grateful to his employees, without whom he acknowledges nothing would be possible. Youval’s customers trust him to give them a quality product for a fair price and that’s exactly what he’s done, which is a big reason why Texas Mattress Makers was voted 2022 “Houston’s Best Mattress Store,” surpassing all big box competitors.

Beyond business, Youval has aspired to be a pillar of support, strength, and generosity in the Houston community. In partnership with Houston Children’s Charity’s A Better Night’s Sleep program, Youval has donated mattresses for children on a monthly basis for nearly a decade. He has aided The Ballard House, Houston Fire Fighters’ Association, Fisher House, Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, Meals on Wheels, Memorial Day Flowers, Chariots for Children, ProUnitas, Keels & Wheels, Pablove Foundation, TEACH, The Wounded Warrior Project, Sky High for Kids, and more.

In fact, Youval never misses the chance to lend a hand, and everyone who knows him, knows that to be true. When asked about his charitable contributions, Youval said, “If your goal isn’t to give back and do good, it isn’t a goal at all.”
