schatzman rosemary2 1A native of Philadelphia, Rosemary graduated from The Pennsylvania State University and received her MBA from the University of Houston. Rosemary worked in the energy industry for fifteen years before commencing on her philanthropic endeavors. Rosemary is married to Matt Schatzman and they have two children – Mary Beth, 17, and Tom, 16. Currently, Rosemary is very active in the community and focuses much of her time on raising money for non-profit organizations focused on children, family, and related health and human services groups.

Rosemary’s primary focus is on helping further the mission of the March of Dimes to reduce birth defects and infant mortality. She has volunteered for this organization since 1997 and has served on the board since 1999. Rosemary is currently the Nominating Chair, served on the Committee for launching Houston’s first Family Support Program in the NICU at Woman’s Hospital of Texas, is a past Board Chairman and has held numerous major fundraising positions including the Best Dressed Luncheon and the record breaking 2011 Signature Chefs Gala. She and her family have participated in the annual March for Babies for SEVENTEEN years – consistently ranking as the top walker in Houston and top family team. She has been the recipient of the State of Texas Fundraising Award, the National Distinguished Volunteer Service Award, and in 2011, she was named Volunteer of the Year for the Texas Chapter. She was also honored at the 2011 Houston Chronicle Best Dressed Luncheon for her fashion style and for her work in the Houston community.

Rosemary also serves on the boards of Dec My Room, The Knowledge Arts Foundation, and is on the Advisory Board for Child Advocates. In addition, she is a member of the National Charity League, sustaining member of VICTORY, and a lifetime guild member of JDRF. She previously served on the boards of American Heart Association, JDRF, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Family Services of Greater Houston, and she has led fundraising efforts for many other Houston non-profits.

Rosemary is grateful to have the love and support from her family and friends in all of these endeavors.
