Lynn Wyatt, a third generation Houstonian, is internationally recognized for her donation of time and energy to cultural foundations, boards and events. Mrs. Wyatt serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Houston Grand Opera and is a Trustee for the Alley Theatre in Houston. Currently, she is chair of the Opera’s upcoming 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee celebration. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Houston Ballet, where she heads the Artistic Committee. She is a Trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where she founded the Film Committee; and, she is a member of the Exhibition Committee, European Art Sub-committee and the Executive Committee. Her contributions to these organizations have raised the arts in Houston to a world-class level.

Lynn’s numerous awards and honors include: Decoration by the French Government with Le chevalier de L’order des Arts et des Lettres, presented by the French Minister of Culture; Appointment by President Reagan to the Board of Trustees of the United States Naval Academy, a post in which she served eight years; Appointment three times to the International Best Dressed List and an appointment to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame; Appointment to the Houston Best Dressed List, as well as being chosen as the first Houston Best Dressed Hall of Fame recipient; Recipient of the Mental Health Association’s Ima Hogg Award for extraordinary contributions to Houston; Received the Woman of Outstanding Achievement Award presented in Birmingham, Alabama; Was one of ten honorees named to Elle Magazine’s Most “Elle” gant Woman Award; and received the Rome, Italy, most Elegant Woman Award.

Lynn is a Founding Trustee of the Princess Grace Foundation, a commitment growing out of her deep friendship with the late Princess Grace of Monaco. One of her most recognized efforts was in 1981, on behalf of the International Red Cross, when she chaired the Bal de la Rose in Monaco, giving it the theme of “The Yellow Rose of Texas Ball,” benefiting the Monaco Red Cross and the American Hospital in Paris. Lynn is notably active with the Star of Hope Mission, in Houston, which addresses the needs of the homeless. For the 13th year, Lynn has chaired or served as honorary chair for their fundraising gala, the very successful “Trees of Hope.”

Lynn is married to Oscar S. Wyatt, Jr. and they have four sons and two grandchildren.
