Ed Wulfe is Chairman, CEO and founder of Wulfe & Co., a Houston based commercial retail real estate brokerage, development and property management firm launched in 1985. Since moving to Houston in 1955, Wulfe has established himself in both the commercial real estate and civic communities.
Wulfe’s innovative redevelopments of Meyerland Plaza and Gulfgate Shopping Center, along with the resulting revitalization of the surrounding areas, have generated numerous awards. And for his over 50 years in commercial real estate, he personally has received a number of Lifetime Achievement Awards. Currently he is involved in the development of BLVD Place, a major mixed-use complex in the heart of Houston’s upscale Galleria/Post Oak area.
Wulfe’s civic involvements include serving as Chairman of the Mayor’s Main Street Coalition since 1998; successfully chairing a city wide referendum to expand Houston’s light rail and transit systems in 2003; and co-chairing the establishment of the Bayou Greenways Initiative in 2011 and the city’s 2012 successful $100 million Parks Bond Campaign. In 2013, was involved in the annexation of Memorial Park into the Uptown TIRZ, committing millions of dollars over the next 10 years for its redevelopment.
Wulfe is past Chairman of the Board and President of the Houston Symphony and was a founding member of Houston’s Quality of Life Coalition. He is currently a member of the executive committee of the Greater Houston Partnership, and on the boards of the Houston Symphony, Scenic Houston, The Center for Houston’s Future, Uptown Houston, Texas Bowl, Holocaust Museum Houston, Texas Heart Institute Foundation, and Methodist Hospital Center for Performing Arts.
He has received numerous awards, including Memorial Park Conservancy 2014 Award of Distinction; The Center for Houston’s Future 2012 Civic Leadership Award; and Blueprint Houston 2009 Visionary Award. Ed was inducted into the City of Houston’s Hall of Fame in 2006 and he received the American Leadership Forum 2005 Exemplary Leader Award; Rice Design Alliance 2004 Award for Design Excellence; Park People 2004 Leadership Award; American Jewish Committee 2002 Human Relations Award; and Scenic Houston 2001 Scenic Visionary Award.
Wulfe and his wife Lorraine share and enjoy their six daughters and ten grandchildren.
