She began her career in Mexico City as Fashion Editor of Vogue en Espanol. In 1984, Becca started a Houston public relations, special events production, and marketing firm. She and Holly Moore, former Editor-in-Chief of Ultra Magazine, joined forces in Cason & Moore, Inc., and made it one of Houston’s top ten public relations firms.

Cason & Moore’s company produced over 150 fundraisers for Houston’s non-profit organizations. They provided PR and marketing services for top fashion, retail, and hospitality clients, and later launched the stylish periodical now known as PaperCity. Since selling her interest in PaperCity publications, Becca has become an active private fundraiser. In less than six years she has raised close to three million dollars for Best Buddies International (founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver) whose mission is to enhance the lives of persons with neuro-developmental disabilities. Among the other organizations on whose Boards Becca serves—and for whom she has chaired events—are Houston Grand Opera, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Houston Ballet, American Friends of the Louvre, the Prince of Wales Foundation, and American Friends of Versailles, working to restore Monet’s Giverny. Many of the fundraisers are hosted by Becca and her beloved husband, John Francis Thrash, M.D., in their Houston residence.

Becca and John are also enthusiastic contributors to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Harris County Medical Museum, Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, American Foundation for AIDS Research, Houston’s Phi Beta Kappa Chapter, Elton John AIDS Foundation, and U of H’s Blaffer Gallery. Becca has twice been named to the Ten Best Dressed list honoring Houston’s fashionable philanthropists.
