Alicia Smith proudly wears many hats: wife, mother, entrepreneur, volunteer and philanthropist. In 1992, she founded Associated Video Services, the first female-owned legal video enterprise in Houston. Her entrepreneurial drive led her to expand Associated Video into Innovative Legal Solutions in 1997. Alicia was appointed to the CRCB Task Force in 2008, serves on the board of directors of the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Entrepreneurs Organization.
Her philanthropic endeavors are many, highlights of which include participation on the boards of directors of Houston Ballet, UNICEF, March of Dimes and The Children’s Assessment Center. She formed The Children’s Assessment Center Friends Guild Board and was its first President (serving for two years). She has served as chair, co-chair, auction chair, invitation chair, program chair and advisor for events, festivals and galas benefiting the American Heart Association, Amschwand Sarcoma Foundation, Houston Ballet, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, The Mission of Yahweh, March of Dimes, Houston Symphony, Ronald McDonald House and Arrow Child & Family Ministries.
Alicia’s honors include the Team Excellence Award – CAC Direct Service Volunteer by the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, The Children’s Assessment Center honoree, chosen as a Woman of Distinction by Channel 13 and the Houston Chapter of Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Leadership Houston – Class XXVI, named 25 Most Beautiful Houstonians by HTexas Magazine in 2007 and 2009, named an Haute Mom by Icon Magazine, honored by Crisis Intervention of Houston “The A List,” chosen as a Houston Sweetheart, and received the Excellence in Bloom award from the Women’s Health Summit, Huffington Center on Aging.
She and husband, Lance, are the proud parents of three sons, Justin, Cole and Chandler, and can always be found supporting their sporting events in football, basketball, track and baseball!
