Team Up Event Shows You Don’t Need a Baseball Field to Get the Players There!

Houston sports celebrities were front and center “field” at Silver Street Studios to bring awareness to the special charities supported by three of our most celebrated Astros players:  Jose Altuve, Lance McCullers, Jr., and Kyle Tucker.

An array of Rolls Royce and Bentley vehicles and hosts Kate and Steve Gibson greeted the more than 500 guests, who were also treated to a Champagne Wall by Lindsey Leigh Jewelry, unique craft cocktails created and served by Maven Coffee + Cocktails, an assortment of food stations including Eau Tour, ROMA, Benny Chow’s, Cotton Culinary and more.

Emcees Julia Morales and Johnny “Bravo” Holloway kept things at a fever “pitch” by showcasing and auctioning some exciting pieces of art, a private catered dinner with Kara and Lance McCullers Jr., Jose Altuve and Kyle Tucker, a chance to throw the first pitch at a game along with Diamond Club seats, and then a surprise donation by Blake Fertitta of Courtside Rockets tickets along with a dinner in the owner’s suite. Hoping for a “home run” and supporting their teammates were players Ryan Pressly, Michael Brantley, Mauricio Dubón, Kendall Graveman and Grae Kessinger.

Animal Shelter and Adoptions tugged at guests’ heartstrings with the precious pups they brought along that were available for adoption. One adorable puppy found a forever home with one of the volunteers at the event.

After the “grand slam” evening was completed, The Lance McCullers, Jr. Foundation (invests time and resources into pet rescue, pet adoptions, raising awareness for shelters and programs, and continuing the journey to a no-kill world), the José Altuve Foundation at Athletes and Causes (supports The Sunshine Kids Foundation) and the Kyle Tucker Foundation (supports Hospice care) all benefited from our All-Star “Hometown Heroes” event, which, along with lead sponsors H-E-B, The Bates Family and Richland Financial, raised over $600,000.

Socially present (not previously mentioned):  Kara McCullers, Nina Altuve, Samantha Scott, Kat Pressly, Monica and Joe Casiano, Cherie and John Lindley, Jenna Lindley, Shelli and Steve Lindley, Matthew Lindley, Randy Hopper, Randy Bates, Tama  Lundquist, Tena Lundquist Faust, Christine and Steve Johnson, Jody Merritt, Edna Meyer-Nelson, Chris LaFollette, Mick Pritchett, Charlene Floyd, Police Chief Troy Finner, Bobbie Nau, Lesha Elsenbrook, Shelley Boyer, Melissa and Dan Sugulas, Katie and Jon Deal, Danny and Iris Shaftel, Donna and Norman Lewis, Honorable Joanne King Herring, Beau King, Carson Brown, Jillian Nel, Beth Wolff, Cynthia Wolff, Lara Bell and Brent Milam, Ellen and Red Ramsey
