Seven Acres Guests Took the “Next Steps to the Future” at the Annual Gala

Over 550 guests took the “Next Step” in tennis shoes at Hilton Americas-Houston as celebrants raised over $1.3 million for the care of the elderly residents at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services.

Long-time supporter Larry Buck was celebrated as the evening’s honoree, and his love for constantly wearing tennis shoes was not only incorporated into the event’s logo but was feted into its theme. Attendees were decked in their glamorous attire and the famed rubber-soled shoes took focus in everyone’s chic attire. A beautiful moment occurred when Larry’s wife, Kaki Buck, and his granddaughter, Molly Nicholson, introduced him and brought him to the stage, where President Michael Feinstein presented him with the well-deserved award.

Emcees were renowned television personalities Linda Lorelle and Khambrel Marshall, who welcomed guests and introduced chairpersons Jennifer and Scott Jacobson and Amy and Adam Mincberg and Honorary Chairs Sue Sue and Don Aron, Barbara and Barry Lewis and Helen Wills and Leonard Goldstein.

Memorable notes from the gala included brilliant event coordination from Francisco + Co., stunning décor from Let It Fly Events, florals from H-E-B, entertainment by David Caceres Band, fabulous gift items up for bid, a lively “Heads or Tails” game, a gift tree, a tequila-martini bar and so much more!
