“Champions for TEACH Promises to be a Virtual Win for Houston Educators
To Educate All Children’s (TEACH) annual sports-themed fundraising gala on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. will be virtual this year. Special guest at this 7th annual dinner will be Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors, eight-time NBA champion, and one of the winningest coaches in NBA history. Kerr has a passion for organizations like TEACH, as both his parents were educators.
In past years, this fun-filled event has featured interviews with sports legends like Peyton Manning and Michael Strahan and raised money to assist Houston educators in creating safe, calm classrooms for children.
Chairpersons for this virtual evening are Carol & Mike Linn and Soraya & Scott McClelland. McClelland, President of H-E-B, will interview Steve Kerr, which promises to be a highlight of the lively, one-hour program. Kerr will share his predictions for the NBA season, give his take on “The Last Dance” documentary and which top five NBA players of all time he would include on his championship team.
“Star Players” Joanne King Herring and Paul Somerville will be recognized for their long-time support of TEACH, founded in 2005 by Susan Sarofim and Mary Yenik. In a special segment, the honorees will share ten of their favorite facts about TEACH.
Table sponsors receive gala essentials including: dinner, wine and dessert from award-winning Tony’s Restaurant delivered to their home the day of the event as well as floral centerpieces.
