A Packed Ballroom and Three Honorees Help MS Society Raise $325,000 at Together for a Cure Luncheon

Over 350 guests packed the ballroom at Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa to honor three individuals for supporting National MS Society. The luncheon, themed “Together for a Cure,” was once again chaired by Franelle Rogers, with support from Honorary Chairs Joy McCormack and Rita Joubran. With the invaluable support of the community and the Presenting Sponsor, TG Therapeutics, over $325,000 was raised for the organization, demonstrating the power of collective action in the fight against MS.

The lunchtime program was led by emcee and auctioneer Johnny “Bravo” Holloway, who introduced Rev. Mary Gracely to lead the invocation. Johnny’s high energy continued and helped generate a successful appeal and lively bidding on a live auction item.

Following the delicious lunch, the honorees, Katie Brass, Dr. Cristina Marchesano, and Carol Sawyer, were welcomed with a wave of never-ending applause. Each of them, in their unique way, has made significant contributions to the fight against MS. Their dedication and hard work, which have significantly advanced the cause, were recognized with standing ovations, a small token of the organization’s immense gratitude.

The program continued with MS Society Board Member Micah Love, who was interviewed on stage by Cyndy Garza Roberts, filling in for Melanie Lawson. He spoke passionately about the tremendous progress made today in the battle against MS, the increase of medications on the market to aid in the symptoms and the challenges of living with MS and raising a family.
