Another Year of Miracles Celebrated at the Annual
Miracles of the Mission Luncheon
The annual “Miracles of the Mission” Luncheon brought 250 souls together at the Junior League to celebrate this faith-based organization’s amazing work and raise money for The Mission of Yahweh.
Even though attendance was free, emcee Johnny “Bravo” Holloway welcomed guests to the memorable gathering and, later in the program, conducted a plea for financial support. His appeal was very well received, as more than $200,000 was given for the charity’s efforts.
The event’s guest speaker was Alan Graham, Founder and CEO of Mobile Loaves & Fishes. His organization has been serving the homeless in Austin for over twenty years. He and his team have served over 6 million meals to those displaced in his area, provided clothing, involved the community in the non-profit’s efforts, and promoted dignity to their needy brothers and sisters. He shared numerous tales of courage and resilience with those in attendance. Angela, one of the Mission’s residents, joined Graham on stage and shared the life-changing impact the services of the Mission had in helping her get back on her feet—from living in her car and contemplating suicide—to a safe place in which she has rebuilt her family relationships and life.
After serving as the Mission of Yahweh’s Executive Director for thirteen years, Richard Hill announced his retirement and was honored for his longtime leadership.
Everyone present was witness to a poignant, successful and most miraculous afternoon!
