Legendary Houston Jeweler Renovates Its Iconic Retail Location

With almost four and a half decades of serving Houstonians with the finest watches and jewelry, Brad Marks, owner of I W Marks, felt it was time to revamp their luxurious surroundings once again. The lucky team at identityARCHITECTS was the partner for this auspicious endeavor.

Irv and Diane Marks founded this beloved store in 1978 and their business has gone through several renovations over the years. Starting with a 500-square-foot store, this establishment has grown to a 7,500-square-foot retail space, with the last renovation taking place over five years ago. Son Brad Marks took over the family business in 2008 and has continued the elegant experience synonymous with the standards his family set over these many years. The completion of this current renovation is set for this fall. New brands being unveiled include Michael M, Konstantino, Memoire and Lashbrook, and watch makers Franck Muller, Carl F. Bucherer, Angelus, and Oris to its already impressive menu of luxury jewelry designers.

“It’s healthy for a business to evaluate every few years and make changes if necessary,” said Marks. “We’re making dramatic changes to ensure we remain the top jewelry and watch destination in Houston for decades to come. We are very excited for the future of I W Marks.”

With the upcoming renovation and changes in design and inventory, Brad Marks sees a fresh start on the horizon for the time-honored store his father built so many years ago. At the beginning of February, a very rare opportunity will occur for Houstonians and continue until weekly evaluations terminate it:  Discounts up to 70% will be offered to shop and save on their favorite jewelry designers, heirloom pieces, custom designs, watches, and with Valentine’s Day arriving shortly, this is the perfect time to choose something special for your love.

Speaking of love, Brad and his beautiful wife Joanna share their love with their four children, and this dynamic duo is actively involved in multiple charities and organizations that make a difference in the community. Among these are American Cancer Society, the Periwinkle Foundation, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Educational Scholarships, The Snow Drop Foundation, The Mission of Yahweh, the Houston Humane Society and Rice University athletic scholarships.
