The Social Book Houston Treasures Awards’ Legacy Endures at Hilton Americas-Houston

The 19th annual class of Houston Treasures Awards honorees will receive their awards at a gala dinner this December, and the Awards’ presenter, The Social Book, has been proudly helping our city’s non-profit organizations for more than 25 years. The Social Book publication began by listing events and clearing dates for charity and non-profit fundraisers to avoid worthy events from landing on the same date. Over the years, our service has become invaluable not only to the charities but also to those attending the events by getting the dates on their calendars as early as possible and without scheduling conflicts.

Warner Roberts, a Houston luminary and the originator of The Social Book (nee The Houston Calendar of Social Events), created The Social Book “Houston Treasures” Award in 2003 as a way to recognize exceptional Houstonians whose extraordinary talents and efforts have made our city a better place. Honorees are chosen by a select committee of The Social Book in the fields of philanthropy, volunteerism, medicine, arts, business, sports, politics and media and have given back to the city in innumerable ways.

Hilton Americas-Houston, one of our city’s most distinguished hotels, will host the pre-Christmas four-course seated wine dinner. Built in 2003, and recently renovated in 2019, adjacent to George R. Brown Convention Center and conveniently situated between Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park, this downtown institution offers 1,207 elegantly appointed guestrooms, two large ballrooms, technologically advanced meeting space, restaurants, lobby bars, and a full-service spa and health club. The 24th-floor Executive Rooftop Lounge has been redesigned into a cool and inviting multi-function space for guests.

The Social Book is proud to be working once again with Director of Catering Matthew Finnan and his team at Hilton Americas, which has hosted multiple spectacular events for The Social Book. Also included in the event production team are celebrated California wineries Cuvaison and Brandlin, linen and tabletop décor specialist EB, Inc., floral artist Flowers by Nino, audio/visual dynamo 360AV Design, superb entertainment company Richard Brown Music, video producer Firefox Video, cake artist Cakes by Gina, invitation designer Elsie Smith Design, and printer extraordinaire Minuteman Press Missouri City.

The identities of the 2023 Houston Treasures honorees will be revealed in the dinner invitation; for the awards ceremony, each honoree will be introduced by a previous Houston Treasures honoree via video and on stage.

A “treasured” evening awaits as the twelve individuals and couples (one for each month of the year) are celebrated at this beautiful and elegant gala. Their extensive accomplishments will be recounted for our enthusiastic invitation-only crowd of past honorees, sponsors of The Social Book and guests of the honorees. A night worthy of honors they truly deserve!
