A Leading Author Delivered a Wake-up Call at Children’s Museum Houston Friends & Families Luncheon
Children’s Museum of Houston recharged more than 275 guests in the River Oaks Country Club ballroom thanks to chairs Devorah Krieger and Ashley Sloan and celebrated author Dr. Amy Shah. Shah’s practical science-backed book, “I’m So Effing Tired: A Proven Plan to Beat Burnout,” “Boost Your Energy,” and “Reclaim Your Life,” delivered a wake-up call on how parents and caregivers can reclaim their energy while juggling the daily demands of family life.
On hand to boost the afternoon program’s energy were Emcee and Channel 11 Meterologist Chita Craft, Museum Board President Jonathan Sloan and Museum CEO Rayanne Darensbourg.
One of the luncheon’s highlights is always the raffle. This year was no exception. Winning a day trip to Round Top was Amanda Pickering. Yalda Hamadanian scored the ultimate retreat with a luxurious weekend at Omni Barton Creek. Lindsey Engleman’s golden ticket got her a coveted King Ranch gift card. Patricia Wenzel’s luck held out as the dining experience at Il Bracco was hers to receive!
The floral department at the cherished Central Market showed their generosity by creating and donating the table centerpieces.
The always-inspired gathering is not just about words that inspire, it is about action. This was evident, as the $180,000 raised, left supporters happy, refreshed and ready to take on the world—one mindful moment at a time!
