Berg Hospitality Shows Legendary Appreciation on First Responder’s Day
Six years ago, in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, restaurateur and CEO of Berg Hospitality Group, Benjamin Berg, saw a need to recognize and honor those whose responsibility is to help their fellow citizens and in almost every way, put other’s lives ahead of their own.
In past years, National First Responders Appreciation Day was held on Saturday, October 28th. Conflicts with baseball playoffs for our Houston Astros, Halloween and Day of the Dead celebrations caused scheduling issues. Ben and his team were smart enough to move the date to Tuesday, September 26th and continue his commitment to thank and honor those on the front lines.
With the exception of Turner’s and Emilia’s Havana, Berg Hospitality and his crew will host all on-duty Responders to a complimentary 3-course meal during lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.! This includes service at B&B Butchers & Restaurant, B.B. Lemon, Benny Chows, The Annie Café & Bar, NoPo Café, Market & Bar, Trattoria Sofia, and B.B. Italia Bistro & Bar.
A private “Top Brass” lunch for the chiefs, sheriffs, etc. will be held on Trattoria Sofia’s patio from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 pm.
The special menu being served to this cherished group on that day is complimentary for on-duty First Responders only. This includes federal law enforcement, EMTs, paramedics (public ambulance services only), firefighters and police officers. Reservations are highly recommended. The guests of the First Responder can enjoy the menu for $25 per person.
Berg’s philanthropy is legendary but so are those who are put in harm’s way every day. This is his way to honor and thank them. Ben says “Our goal every year during this time is to thank and honor all the First Responders for their ongoing service and dedication to helping the City of Houston. We know it is more important than ever to provide a nice meal from us to show our appreciation for how selflessly they serve us every day.”
