Bayou Bend Garden Party-Butterflies and More!
No better way to spend a Sunday spring evening than dining and dancing on the beautifully manicured grounds of Bayou Bend, the former historic home of Ima Hogg! Such was the case recently as visitors gathered at twilight in the gardens of this legendary estate under an extravagant garden tent. Chairman Sharon G. Dies was thrilled as the crowd of 270 helped usher in another great Bayou Bend event weekend!
Creating and crafting around a butterfly theme, Richard Flowers and his décor company The Events Company worked their magic to transform this blank canvas into an interior filled with greenery, lavender blooms, crystal chandeliers, deep lavender linens, delicate florals and butterfly-designed plating chargers.
City Kitchen rose to the occasion with offerings of Summer Melon Salad, Pinto Bean Cake, Grilled Red Snapper filet and the finale concluded with a Chocolate Pecan Tart with Cinnamon Caramel Sauce and Cherry Gelato. Lively entertainment was provided by David Caceres Band and the crowd danced the night away.
The program included remarks from Gary Tinterow, Director of Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, followed by Jim Miller, Managing Director for Tanglewood Corporation. By evening’s end, the event raised $533,000 for Bayou Bend’s operating budget.
