Athletes and Their Causes Were Big Winners at Team Up
Houston Astros players Kyle Tucker, José Altuve, and Josh Hader hosted the annual record-breaking Team Up event at the Post Oak at Uptown Hotel for a roaring crowd of 550 guests and raised over $600,000. Each of the host players selected causes close to their hearts. Hospice care organizations were the recipients of the Kyle Tucker Foundation. José and Giannina Altuve and their José Altuve Foundation benefited The Sunshine Kids Foundation. Pitcher Josh Hader supports foster care for children, including Covenant House and Be a Resource (B.E.A.R.). Lance McCullers Foundation benefits animal rescue and adoptions.
Prized Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles greeted the attendees while they mingled with Astros Ryan Pressley and Mauricio Dubón and many other favorite team players. Emcees Julia Morales and Johnny “Bravo” Holloway kept the crowd excited and ready to bid on several fantastic items, which included a private catered dinner with Kyle Tucker, José Altuve and Josh Hader; a one-of-a-kind piece of art by Skel signed by all the players; a chance to throw the first pitch at an Astros game along with owner seats in the Diamond Club, and much more!
Lindsey Leigh Jewelry and Young + Wild and Friedman sponsored a unique champagne wall and gave the partygoers a chance to enjoy a glass of bubbly, win a piece of jewelry or a variety of gift cards. Animal Shelter and Adoptions was on hand with precious pups available for adoption to worthy families. A winning evening for all involved with so many winning causes!
