Not Even the Rain Could Dampen the Excitement of the Tickled Pink Luncheon Kickoff at Tootsies

Over 100 supporters braved the monsoon to join their friends at the popular fashion store TOOTSIES in celebration of The Power of Pink for the kickoff of the upcoming spring Tickled Pink Luncheon benefiting American Cancer Society. Chairs Jacquie Baly, Beth Wolff and Cynthia Wolff and Honorary Chair Leisa Holland-Nelson Bowman were all smiles as guests mixed and mingled and recognized honorees Shelley Reeves Boyer, Evelyn Leightman, Janette Marx and Sue Smith. Other honorees unable to attend are Nelda Blair, Chree Boydstun and Cheryl Creuzot.

Pink ensembles, pink bubbly beverages, pink macaroons, a raffle for an electric bike, courtesy of Porsche River Oaks and Porsche West Houston, greeted attendees on arrival. ACS Board Chairman Leisa Holland-Nelson Bowman spoke to the crowd and proudly announced that for every dollar raised by Houston cancer events, $4 of research funds are returned to Houston’s Medical Center. Also, for almost eight decades, more than $5 billion has been funded by the organization. At the program’s conclusion, Errol Hughes, Porsche Brand Ambassador for Porsche River Oaks, announced he was adding to the raffle, a chance to win a weekend use of one of their prized automobiles.
