750 Started Their Engines and Rallied for a Cure at VICTORY Rally Ball
Chairs Jennifer Barron, Kathryn Noser, and Jessica Younger (an original VICTORY Founding Member) were happily “burning rubber” with the turnout of 750 attendees at the recent VICTORY Rally Ball, held at 713 Music Hall. More than $1.5 million was raised for cancer research and programs in Houston.
The VICTORY Rally Ball was a night to remember, with a multitude of activities to keep the guests entertained. From wine, whiskey and tequila pulls (selling over 300), a photo booth, selfie station, shoe shine station, Las Vegas-style gaming, alcohol tastings, Heads & Tails game, live music and dancing, there was something for everyone. A tribute wall also welcomed those arriving, providing a poignant moment for guests to sign a colored ribbon in honor or memory of a loved one affected by cancer. Associate Members Pam Earthman, Anita Fogtman, Elizabeth Fulghum and Karen Peltz were on hand to greet those ready for a fun-filled night.
The evening was expertly hosted by KPRC’s head weatherman Frank Billingsley, who just announced his retirement at the end of June. His presence added a special touch to the event. Churrasco’s provided the delicious fare for those wanting some well-needed “fuel” to get through the evening and Beam Suntory offered tequila and whiskey tastings. Houston’s celebrity auctioneer, Johnny “Bravo” Holloway, orchestrated a high-energy and spirited live auction, adding to the excitement of the night. He crossed the finish line with his high-octane vigor and when Jeff Dyke, an executive with sponsor Sonic Automotive, generously donated two 2024 Ford Bronco Badlands 4×4, “Johnny B” jumped into action. His exceptional skills got record bids on both trucks and the several popular items that followed.
Other items Johnny masterfully assembled on stage for bidding included a private dinner with Johnny Carrabba, diamonds from Diamonds Direct, a cocktail party at Steak 48, a custom-built kids’ playhouse donated by Newmark Homes, and a dove hunt by MGW Outfitters. Social champion Cyvia Wolff took home a Tenenbaum Jewelers gift certificate. Michael Vanderhider was the big winner at the Las Vegas gaming.
When Skyrocket! took to the stage for the evening’s entertainment, the psychedelic light-up dance floor became the center of attention. Partygoers then waved their VICTORY Rally towels in unison for everyone to “rally towards a cure!” Those staying late enjoyed scrumptious chicken and biscuits. Upon leaving, a great swag bag sponsored by VICTORY donors was waiting for each couple. Rally On VICTORY!
