Since Andrea has left the practice of law, she has pursued her dream of writing and has published four books of historical fiction. Written for middle school students, Surviving Antarctica tells the story of the Robert F. Her books have won numerous awards, including the Golden Spur award and the Spirit of Texas award.

Andrea is a founding member of the board of Houston A+ Challenge, an organization that supports public school reform. The Whites have three grown children.
