Franelle Rogers is a longtime philanthropist, community volunteer and Houston area event chair and /or committee member. After attending the University of Texas, majoring in Marketing, she was asked to move to New York to work for Manufacturers Hanover, known as MannyHanny. She missed her Texas roots and moved to Houston in 1972. She married and lived in Las Vegas in 1976, but again, her Texas roots brought her back to Houston in 1977. It was in 1978 that she chaired her first event, which benefited the Museum of Medical Science.

Thus began Franelle’s lifetime of community service, working on or chairing many events, including Houston Grand Opera, several luncheon events for American Heart Association, Child Advocates, Communities in Schools, and AHA Sporting Clays Shoots. For the last five years, she has chaired the MS On the Move Luncheon; for the last 3 years, she has been involved with the Best Cellars Wine Dinner, which benefits MD Anderson Hospital. Last year she co-chaired the Crohn’s & Colitis Winter Ball. One of the great pleasures in her life is giving back and making a difference in the community.

Many years ago, Franelle started taking voice lessons and has written five songs that one day she hopes to have recorded. She also has a passionate interest in wine and continues to further develop her education in the wine sector, assembling a formidable roster of classes and certifications from wine aficionados. She has studied with Bear Dalton, the owner of The Wine School at l’Alliance Francaise de Houston and taken a number of wine education classes from James King, owner of King Group Events. She has earned a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certificate and has also achieved Level 2 Intermediate Certification in Wine & Spirits via The Texas Wine School.

Franelle is currently the Bailli, President, of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, Houston Chapter and has been a member since 2009. When she is not out and about in the community, Franelle Rogers enjoys cooking at home with friends and family and sharing and tasting wines from her personal cellar.
