A “Howl-ing” and “Thrill-ing” Good Time at SPCA’s Howl-O-Ween Ball

It’s not often that an event raises $1 million, but more than 350 supporters made that a reality at the Houston SPCA’s annual Howl-O-Ween Ball! Chairpersons were longtime supporters and animal lovers Zane and Brady Carruth and Ann and Leslie Doggett.

Houston SPCA’s Equine Rescue Arena was transformed into a haunted Howl-O-Ween ballroom by renowned decorator Bergner and Johnson, who filled the space with spooky Howl-O-Ween décor.

The sumptuous cocktail hour provided guests the opportunity to preview a plethora of prized silent auction items, including, a $2,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree for two, a George Rodrigue silkscreen print and two tickets to see Earth Wind and Fire perform with Santana with an Earth Wind and Fire meet after the show!

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) students gave a surprise performance of “Thriller” as guests entered the ballroom. KHOU TV-11 anchor and event emcee Kimberly Davis opened the program with the introduction of chairs Zane and Brady Carruth, who welcomed guests and thanked them for their continued support.

During dinner, various short videos introduced Community Honoree Linda McIngvale, Mission Honorees Westbury Animal Hospital, Jennifer Schechter Rosen and Constable Alan Rosen and Media Honoree KHOU TV-11.

Halfway through the evening, the TUTS students dazzled with a performance of “The Addams Family” and concluded the evening with a performance of “Monster Mash!”

Partygoers could also opt to visit the Adoption Center for coffee and cocktails, which is one of the main purposes of this charity’s mission. Congratulations to everyone involved for a very successful event!
